Caida fatal del acróbata francés del Cirque du Soleil Yann Arnaud
Un día triste para el circo… Yann Arnaud, acróbata francés del Cirque du Soleil, cayó en pleno show el sábado pasado mientras actuaba en el espectáculo VOLTA en Tampa, Florida. Yann Arnaud, de 38 años, se precipitó de una altura de unos 4 metros al perder el contacto con los agarres de los straps. Falleció en el hospital horas más tarde a consecuencia del impacto de la caída. Ahora están estudiando toda la información que han recopilado sobre este trágico suceso.
Yann Arnaud ha trabajado en el Cirque du Soleil los últimos quince años.
Aunque es cierto que el momento de la tragedia fue grabado por decenas de espectadores que estaban presenciando el espectáculo, desde Malabart no creemos necesario poner aquí el video de la muerte de Yann. En esas imágenes grabadas por los espectadores puede observarse como varias personas acudieron al momento a socorrer a Yann. El número se suspendió de inmediato, así como las siguientes presentaciones.

It is with immense sadness that Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group reports that a tragic accident occurred last night, March 17, during a performance of its show VOLTA, in Tampa, Florida. While he was performing the aerial straps number, long-time aerialist, Yann Arnaud, fell onto the stage. Emergency procedures were immediately activated and Yann was transported to the nearest hospital, where he later passed away from his injuries.
«The entire Cirque du Soleil family is in shock and devastated by this tragedy. Yann had been with us for over 15 years and was loved by all who had the chance to know him. Over the coming days and weeks, our focus will be on supporting Yann’s family and our employees, especially the VOLTA team, as we go through these difficult times together», said Daniel Lamarre, President and CEO of Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group.

The last 2 shows of VOLTA scheduled to perform in Tampa today, March 18, at 1:30 pm and 5 pm have been cancelled.
